Position Overview
As
a General Ledger Accountant, you will play a critical role in
maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with
Saudi accounting standards (SOCPA) and IFRS. This position offers
excellent career progression for detail-oriented accounting
professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting Functions
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger with 100% accuracy
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/SOCPA
Process journal entries, accruals, and prepayments
Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Compliance & Reporting
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Support internal and external audits
Ensure compliance with Saudi VAT, Zakat, and tax regulations
Prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes
Assist with ERP system implementation (SAP, Oracle)
Maintain proper documentation and filing systems
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Criteria
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (required)
Certifications: CPA/ACCA/CMA candidates preferred
Experience: 3-5 years in general ledger accounting
Technical Skills:
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Knowledge of IFRS and SOCPA
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Big 4 or multinational companies
Familiarity with Saudi tax and Zakat regulations
Arabic language skills (advantageous)
